Default Uh oh do I have Dana 35C or Chrysler 8.25

I have 2001 xj sport 4x4. In middle of replacing bearings. I have carrier bearings, pinion races and pinion bearing in but came to a halt from installing outer Pinion Seal. The one I have is the Timeken kit.
I ordered the kit for Chrysler 8.25 due to reading the tell tale signs, flat spot on the diff cover and diff case.
I’m bouncing back and fourth bc my diff has adjusters no shims for the carrier.
looking at videos for Dana 35 they all had shims but for the Chrysler 8.25 came with adjusters. When I compared my pinion races before the install they appeared the same size.
Need some help on what rear end I do have

Rebuild kit ordered

Diff cover flat spots top and bottom

Pinion seal different size

Pinion seal different size. New one(red) is bigger

Diff with bearing adjusters

Flat on the case

That looks like an 8.25 to me. I say that based off the fact that I have a Dana 35 and mine does not match yours.

There may be different OD drive shaft yokes, hence different pinion seal IDs. I've run into that on the front D30 before.

8.25, the lip on the differential is a dead give away.

The parts catalog only lists one yoke and seal part number for a 2001 8.25"
52068839 YOKE, Axle
52067595 SEAL, Drive Pinion

That seems to cross to a TIMKEN 710480 , which RockAuto says is "1.732 in. Shaft Size; 2.614 in. Bore; 2.621 in. Outer Diam; 0.394 in. Width"

i had Timken rebuilt kit and different seal. I reached RockAuto for assistance. Couldn’t get much bc I have installed the bearings already. Autozone and Oreillys I couldn’t get much help. Until I went into NAPA auto parts man those guys pulled it off. It
helped guy behind counter had a TJ. He brought out 6 different seals and we compared.

The Autozone and Oreilly's around me are helpless and more expensive than NAPA. Our NAPA guys are pretty good and like a challenge.
