Unit bearings and axle u joints
I'm getting ready to replace my unit bearings. My last xj I used a timkin from rock auto. I just wanted to double check that timkin is still the ones to go with. And what axle u joints are recommended to use ? I've seen them from 2.50 to 25.50

if this is for the 1990 that's in your profile, and if it has abs, then you need spicer 297x axle u-joints. (you can upgrade to 760x joints for direct fit).
unless it does not have abs and it has the vac disco and is still running stock 2pc shafts, then you need spicer 260x u-joints.
for u-joints, i've used precision and moog. i like the non greaseable and just grease them as i install them.
as for unit bearings, either timkin or skf are the better ones. i use skf and have good luck outlasting even the timkin bearings.

Timken is usually the only ones you will find honestly - one piece deals.
As for Ujoints, ya Spicer if you can find them, otherwise Moog. I may be alone in that opinion, as some people complain about them being fractionally "oversized" - but my hammer talked dirty to them and made them listen just fine.
Not sure if you've looked up writeups for the job yet, but either way use the socket trick! (putting a socket behind the wheel hub assemly and then using power steering to pop the wheel hub off)

I don't have abs and it's a non disco axle. I was told it's from a 94 as was the rear axle but who knows the jeep came factory with the 242 case so I know those were a non disco axle. And I don't have issues removing parts. I got a selection of big *** hammers and an air hammer to use. And yes sorry it's for my 90 I forgot to put that in the op

I would use the Spicer 760X u-joints and either Timken or SKF unit bearings. Because Amazon can be funny about honoring manufacturer warranties, I try not to buy things from them that have a long warranty (like a unit bearing). I buy the u-joints from Amazon and unit bearings locally from Auto Zone(Timken) or NAPA(SKF). Car Quest usually stocks the 760X u-joints, at least in my area. NAPA can order them. Since some parts are bad out of the box, I find it easier to go put it on the counter at the local store and walk out with another on rather than deal with shipping and re-shipping.

I use http://www.northerndrivetrain.com/ for u-joints and stuff, they have a good selection of Spicer stuff and are quick and cheap.
Hubs I would buy locally to avoid shipping charges. Timken and SKF can be bought anywhere from national chains
