Updating cooling system
i am going to be updating my cooling system on my 98 xj. New radiator, new hoses, new thermostat, and water pump. I will be purchasing from rockauto. Can you help me and tell me which one I need?

I've had no problems with this one:

I'd get a MOPAR 195 thermostat.

SPECTRA PREMIUM CU1193 {Click Info Button for Alternate/OEM Part Numbers} Info
Except Post Office (Right Hand Drive)
It's for all '98 Cherokee XJ's except for post office ones which are right hand drive.

Is the Mopar worth the extra money - to me, yes. However there are 2 Mopars listed so I'd research it, but $130 for a Mopar OEM radiator is a good deal.
Lots of folks have good luck with the Spectras and they are priced very reasonably. Check your local Autozone/Advance type retailer as you may find the markup for Lifetime warranty and local availability to be worth it.

Thats the same radiator i have in my 97. The only issue i had with it was the elbow at the bottom for the transmission cooler. It stuck out more than the old one, and interfered with the inner fender. I fixed that by bending the inner fender slightly to clear the elbow. Or you can trim the inner fender with a Dremel. Aside from that it fit like a glove.

Dealer. It's worth it.
Agreed. If you ever need to do a return, you can just walk in to Autozone and have a no-hassle exchange. You might need to call ahead to make sure they have it in stock. That's not going to happen with any online dealer, and Rockauto isn't nice about returns. Look into their restocking fees.

Most of the time when I post parts from Rock Auto it's for a reference to the part. You should always check local as far as prices go. As far as Rock Auto goes in many years of dealing with them and spending a lot of money there I've not had one problem. My SIL reconditioned an '81 F-150 year before last. Again no problems even when it was his fault for ordering the wrong parts a few times.
