ive been reading the threads like crazy. but wanted to be sure it was only a connection difference.
why do you say you will run rich and lose mpg? all others say its better. how will it run rich if its the same lb/hr injector?
(i know you hate injector questions....lol) believe me i have searched and searched and there is tons of info....most of it contradicting
edit - guys ive talked to who drive and mod neons say the connectors are the same. ?

The connections on the 703's and 784's are different - trust me. I've done a bunch swaps with both and I've sold quite few refurbished sets so I would know.
Your XJ runs rich before resetting the ECU because it pumps more fuel than is needed. With the OE injectors, it had to push all the fuel though one single port. The 703/784's are a 4 port design, allowing more fuel through when it pumps at the factory rating, thus running rich. That's what causes you to lose mpg's. Once you reset the ECU, your computer will relearn the proper fuel trim levels base don how you drive over the next 50 warm up cycles. At that point you will see the same mpg's as you did before. Some guys see a slight mpg increase, but it's most likely from them not have to stomp on it to get up to speed because of the better throttle response. The injectors don't give better mpg's, but driving style does.
