Exclamation Urgent! Drive shaft problem

Yesterday I was pulling out of my neighborhood and heard a big knocking noise. So I check it out and my rear drive shaft had come off where it connects to the rear axle. A buddy of mine said I needed to replace the u-joint, so I purchased a new one, but now I just need to know how to replace it. If any one could please help that'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

is the yoke still intact? did you lose any hardware when it "fell out," like the bolts or the straps. i dont have a write up on changing them, but im sure someone can provide something for you. i've always seen it done with a hammer and a socket about the same size as the cap to punch it out.

Did you follow the instructions on this site, http://jeepin.com/features/ujoint/index.asp
If so did you remember to remove the snap ring?

get a ball joint press and try that..I use the socket and big mallet hammer and smack the crap out of it..If it's seized that bad wow..Maybe get some silicon spray lube and hose it down and let it sit a sec and see if it will loosen up.

I still can't seem to get it out.. :/ It's loose in there now, just can't pop either of the caps out so I can remove it. I'd cut it but don't have anything to do that at the moment. Any other ideas?
