drill a hole in your bumper...i forget the size of the drill bit...but if your going to put them on your bumper make sure you use a center punch so your drill bit doesnt wander around...

yeah thats what i did. but i ended up taking off my bumper lights because the relays would always short and the wiring kept falling apart due to the outside elements..

I think I have a pretty clever spot to mount them under the bumper. I'll check it out and see how well it'll work. I might just go with 4~6 mounted on the roof, all pointing at slightly different angles. (deer finder, straight ahead, close front @ deer finder angle)

Not to thread jack or anything....but I guess I'm going to anyway! SO, I have a roof rack on my 01 XJ, may sound like a stupid question, but how do I run the wiring from the lights on the roof rack? I don't want it to look ghetto, do I have to drill in the roof somewhere and run the wires?
Thanks!
PS the pic will show that I clearly need some light action up there!!!!

I personally find this relevant, this is where I'm going to be mounting my lights too.
On a personal note, could you send me some more pics of your roof rack? I'm having someone fab mine for me and they could use some pics to work with.

No prob, I'll send you some pics w/dimensions tomorrow...I can't find the website; I'm pretty tired...so...tomorrow I'll let you know where I got the rack...I think it's kind of an off brand but I think it looks good...

Alright, thanks guys. I'm thinking two mounted on my bumper (IDK how I'm gonna cut through my bumper, or if I should find somewhere else to mount. It's about 3/8" steel, lifetime guarantee not to bend.) And four on the safari rack I'm getting made. That should be good...
Check this:

Very functional, inexpensive for the bar, easy to wire up to existing lighting harnesses and it looks effing sweet...

I didnt have to drill any holes in the bumper (there are holes already there) and installation took about 15-20 minutes

i drilled a hole in the roof..... very hidden and looks very nice!! then ran the wires under the headliner to the front driver side pillar and down through the dash. all worked out pretty easy and very hidden!!
