Default Vacuum Harness Discontinued - What Now?

Hi guys...

Just picked up a '95 XJ 4.0 and noticed the vacuum harness from the intake to the fuel pressure regulator is rotten at both 90 degree elbows. I know it's a 53006235 but it's unobtainable as far as I can tell.

it looks like bulk vac hose wouldn't make those sharp bends... so what do you guys do about such a problem ?

Thanks in advance for your input and ideas !

Go to a pick and pull and look at other cars , they have 90 degree elbows that you ca use . I got some from a ford that work for the vacuum line on my xj .

Is this it?

And you are just talking about the elbows?
If so to me that is a Dorman product off the help wall that most auto parts stores have.
Thinking you can find something that will work.
I had to replace a elbow for a vacuum line at my intake manifold.
Like tech said I found a Ford one that did the job off the help wall.

Check that it's the correct year, but I think these are the two halves of the entire vacumn harness and the orifice that goes in the rear of the valve cover.

Ralph - that's the item right there and yeah it's the elbows only that need changed. I'm taking your advice as I stated in the other forum.

Lawson - those look to be every harness there is except the one I need! Appreciate the effort on your part(s) it definitely has me focused on a solution where there was none before.

Thanks again !

Wow - I literally just bought that exact part for my 95 off of Ebay. It was a "new" part in the sense that it was never used on a vehicle before, but it was from a dealer overstock, so it was nearly as old as my Jeep. It worked great.

When you use the bulk line you have to make your loops bigger. Not a huge deal just not as clean as OEM.

Or get some generic elbows and make it look nice.

Sometimes you can't use hose. I have 3 vacuum lines going to the intake manifold on my '00. Hard plastic lines with rubber elbows on the ends attaching to nipples on the intake.
On the one up front I was able to use a piece of vacuum hose. That is because the hard plastic line and the nipple were pretty much the same diameter.
The middle one was where I had to get creative cause the hard plastic line was a larger diameter then the nipple on the intake.
That is where I used the Dorman Ford elbow that I found on the help wall at an auto parts store.
Never messed with the third one, closest to the firewall, so I can't comment on that.

Great Ideas guys - pretty much exactly what I'm looking for..

Lawson - I checked that link (thanks) and I'm questioning wether those are all hard plastic elbows or if some are rubber. The stock line between both rubber elbows on mine is a hard plastic line. Should I replace the whole thing? Short rubber generic vacuum hose from intake nipple to hard plastic elbow to generic vacuum hose to span the gap to another hard plastic elbow and another short generic hose to regulator ?

I looked at the link again as well. It says its for 89-95, so it might not be an exact match.

I see what ya did there ElMartillo , looks just fine to me - old hard plastic line slipped inside short length of generic rubber hose no elbows needed. Nice.

Could I trouble u for a pic of the manifold end ? Unless it remains stock then no need .

Really appreciate the help boys.
