Default Vacuum leak of some kind

Hey y'all, first post on this forum that I've made, been using this forum to help me with jeeps for awhile now though. But now I find myself needing to post a question since I don't even know what the part is that I'm trying to fix. Before I get to the question I'll fill y'all In on the background of the jeep. It's a 1996 two door, the guy I got it from said that it had a 2001 engine dropped into it. I didn't have proof of this but the engine seemed pretty clean and ran strong so I took his word for it. When I got the jeep it was part way through a auto to manual swap, so I finished that up and now it has a strong 5-speed In her with brand new master/slave, flywheel, and clutch. But once I put that all back together the engine went from running strong to not idling, and dieing unless I stay on the gas. Now we get to the question I have, in the pictures I've posted the first couple is of a connection on my manifold that makes a strong sucking noise and is supposed to have a hose connected to it, but every time I connect the hose the jeep won't stay running unless I stay on the throttle, other wise it just idles down and dies. I traced the hose back to the thing in the next picture which I don't know what that part is, and from there it goes to the last picture which I'm pretty sure is my charcoal canister, but I'm not 100%. Any help with figuring this out would be greatlt appreciated, thanks guys.
