lol yea stuff i work on the big stuff......basically pay is better, and i hated working regular automotive than going home and working on my own vehicles, so its different enough that i can do it and still enjoy working on my own stuff

Always some shade tree mechanic got more knowledge and better ideas than the engineers who designed and manufactured it. Guess these opinions depend on whether you want to fix it right or half *** fix it. Thats why I have always preferred to work on my own ****. By the way to the guy who removed the football under the fender Does your heater blend door and your cruise control still work? Or are they not supposed be functional either? lol

Well if your referring to me. Read on, if not then disregard.

No, I removed the cruise.(Do not need it for offroading, its not a DD. And all the blend door needs is a vacuum signal. It doesnt have to be from that dumbass football. Think about it, where does that thing get its vacuum from? Uh, obviously it comes from a source connected to the intake manifold!!! All that thing does is redistribute vacuum! If you looked at a vac diagram then might know that. Theres your shade tree education for the day BTW!!!

And before you get your holier than thou hat on you should know who your talking to and what kind of mechanical background they have before you start pecking the keys on your keyboard. What Ive done obviously works. Or else I wouldn't have done it. All I did was delete stuff that is useless on my rig. Just because an "engineer" put it there doesn't mean the vehicle will not function properly without it. The first engineers were "shade tree"!

Im not suggesting everyone do what I did with my rig. Some states require this stuff to pass regulation.

Air box > vac switch

Air box > cap other

Air box > front top valve cover

Vac switch > fuel regulator

vac switch > EGR switch

Egr switch > EGR valve

Intake port > dedicated vac line for HVAC (or vac ball under bumper)

Intake Port > Rear top valve cover

Cool it. We mechanics do this for a living, we know the laws and we are trained to follow them. In some cases where improvement can be done to an existing system, it should be done.
