Default vacuum to non-vacuum disconnect D30

So what does it take? Can i just pull out the 2 piece axle and put in a 1 piece? I'm having trouble finding a write up on the matter. I've got the d30 all disassembled and ready for new axles, I just want to know which way to go next.

I've always be under the impression all you need to do is swap the shafts but I could be wrong

i was had the understanding that you need a different oil seal inside the housing to run the one piece shaft in the disco axle housing

You have to pull the carrier to install the seal. Since the disco seal won't work on a 1 piece shaft.
