Valve Cover Gasket Replace 93 XJ
I am getting ready to replace the valve cover gasket on my 1993 with 4.0. Is the Fel-Pro gasket worth the extra cost? I also need the grommets. Let me know what you went with and where to buy. Any links are helpful. The later XJ's ( I beleive 96-01 and later use a slightly different gasket)
I saw this one, but does not come with gaskets:

Valve cover gasket
I just went with a cork gasket for 8 bucks and sealed the valve cover to gasket with Permatex. I did not use the Permatex on the gasket to cylinder head side. I let it set up for an hour or so while I did some other things.
i wanted the Felpro gasket but went cheap. The local parts places wanted 55 bucks for the blue one. I got it done but next time I'll go with the good one.

I'm pretty sure the Felpro one I ordered a few years ago is blue and came with grommets but this is all I can find now

All model year 4.0L Valve Cover Gaskets are cross compatible. I have a 00' Cherokee and an 06' LJ. I have the 95' & down Fel-Pro gasket on both motors. It's a better gasket simply because the bolts pass through reinforced eyelets in the gasket. It stays in place and is less likely to leak and I like to use studs rather than bolts. The part # for the good Fel-Pro gasket is VS50522T. Also, the grommets aren't necessary. The gasket does all the sealing. I like to use Bonded Sealing Washers instead. Bolts are 1/4-20-1.

Definitely go with fel-pro and stay away from permatex or any other silicone sealant unless you feel like cleaning up a mess in the future. And I've used the same fel-pro gasket for a 92 Cherokee, 97 Cherokee, and a 96 Grand Cherokee with no leaks.

Also, found this gasket and will probably use it when I have to replace mine on 1996 XJ. Still seems OK at 358,000 miles.
