Well maybe I can...cough cough help here.
Mine looked like that, maybe worse, just over a year ago. I used a shop vac with a turkey baster tube as a super nozzle to scrap and vac under the valve cover. Did TONS of other things chasing a mis-fire. Finally decided. It HAD to be something with the head.
(was burnt valve ).
My tear down found all you see under the valve cover in the lower end. I basically did what is being suggested. Drop pan, was leaking anyway, new oil pump. New pickup. Cleaned everything I could. SHOULD have possibly replaced the bearings but I didn't.
Yeah, it doesn't SOUND great when first cranked. Yeah, my oil pressure is 20-50 running good filter and 10W-40 oil. How does it run? Pretty good. 258K Miles and with my brand new 245/75/16 old style MTRs and 3" lift I get 15mpg and it will spin them if I stomp on it.
I plan to just maintain, pray and run it til it dies, then completely rebuild.
Buddy at work has 368K on his. The 4.0L seems to be able to take alot of abuse.
