Very strong fuel smell after driving
It seems that lately i’ve been smelling this very strong fuel smell coming from somewhere near my gas tank. Every time I step out of my Jeep, I get hit with this smell of gas. This hasn’t really happened to me before, and it just kind of came out of no where.
Now, i’ll see if I can snap a picture of my tank, but there seems to be this line that’s coming out of the fuel tank that’s been degraded and crumbled, and it looks to be some sort of EVAP line. But the odd thing is that i’ve known about that line since I got it last year, and it’s only been a few days since I started smelling it.
Good thing is that I can’t smell it inside while driving, it only starts to smell after I cut it off and get out. It’s not leaking fuel either, so I don’t really know what to look for here

That line has been getting worse with time. It finally let go.
The EVAP line is a vapor line, so you wont/shouldnt see any fuel from it. But still needs replaced.

Here’s a picture of the broken line I was talking about
That line has been broken for the longest time, and to me it looks like a simple vent to atmosphere. I’ll have to look at the EVAP lines and see if any are broken.
I also don’t know what that blue wire connects too. It was pinched in one of the shock bolts in the rear, and it comes from the engine bay. No idea what it does

My philosophy is fix KNOWN possibilities/issues before chasing your tail with conjecture.

It goes to something. It's connected to the fuel tank........fix it.
If you still have the smell, that wasn't it.
If you spent the time figuring that out instead of posting hypothetical scenarios on the forum, it would be fixed by now.

Plus they don't "vent to atmosphere" since the late 60's. Since you seem possessed by the internet Google evaporative emission control

It looks like that line is supposed to connect to a tee, which leads to the left and right rollover valve. I’ll have to take a look but it seems that my EVAP canister isn’t even hooked up.

Well, if I traced this right, then it looks like my EVAP canister isn’t hooked up all the way. I’ll take a good look under my tank when I get a chance and see if I can find where that left line got disconnected at. I have a feeling that disconnected line has been causing that fuel smell, and i’m smelling it more now that it’s hot outside, versus when I bought my Jeep when it was cooling down outside
