I have a 96 Cherokee sport with 5.5” lift. I have replaced all suspension parts except ball joints. New track bar, new control arms, new wheels, new universal joints, new steering gearbox, new dampener - everything. And yet it still has a wondering problem. no bump steer, just a little wondering where the steering seems loose. I have had 2 alignments done just to make sure. I have set my tires to 31psi as recommended by this forum. I am at a loss. Any ideas as to what it could be?

Try slamming a couple lag bolts through the front sway bar bushings. I have heard you can also fill them with some kind of epoxy to take up slack.

Were the new lower control arms stock style or adjustable? What were the caster numbers on your most recent alignment? As the lift gets larger the caster angle on the axle gets increasingly worse (if the lower control arms are not lengthened), and this will result in wandering that is particularly sensitive to any grooves in the road.
