This whole last year since July 2019. We have put a new engine all new wiring I mean every wire under hood . All sensors ECM all other parts new also. I just recently had a chuck of piston break off and of course causing damage to lifters and beyond. So I pay 771 dollars for brand new head and the new lifters new spark plugs etc. my question is it is not installed correctly or something not right in the head could it just mess up the new head like I mean it burnt a piston and blown head gasket. The bottom radiator hose clamp wasn’t tightened good and come out of store and saw anti freeze all over . Just wondering cause I wonder since we heard what sounded like a piston slapping at first crank. We added break in oil just for when you breaking in engine. Yes i drove it slowly watching temp for 2 blocks to get antifreeze the temp gauge never got above one notch past 210

How does a chunk of piston affect the lifters? How does it even get up there? The lifters ride the cam, so if the chunk of piston got to the lifter, the cam is right there.

A broken skirt is known to happen on the 4.0L. What brand engine? Jasper, or someone else? As for the lifter, it possible the lifter itself was bad already and just needed time. It does happen. New or old, it does happen. Was it starved for oil? Check the flat side for abnormal wear as that can wipe out the cam. What brand were the parts? Your post doesnt say much other than bad lifters and a chunk of piston. Just looking for info.

well might sound like you said cause I don’t know all that much. I try but just know bits and pieces and occasional helping take bolts out. Just trying to determine if maybe some of the issues that have happened was done on purpose or way to keep me from leaving. Or if it’s forgetfulness going on. I do remember while I was on the road escorting a load I was coming out end of tunnel and my drivers side back wheel come slam off. Was told oh I guess I forgot to tighten them. Just asking for professional opinion of other mechanics of the most likely thing happening
