Exclamation Wanting to put a 2" lift. Whats the cheapest but best way?

I just bought a 92 jeep cherokee xj and i put 30" tires on and am wanting to put a 2" inch lift on it. Is spacers a good way to go or no?

I have a spacer and shackle lift on my XJ and it's fine for me. As long as your stock leaf springs are in good conditions, you should be fine with a 2" spacer and shackle lift.

Bastard pack in the rear, S-10' lowering shackles, and V8 Grand Cherokee/F-150 coils for the front. That should easily get you 2".

Default 2" lift

This is the kit I want to get. My shocks are shot, so it will give a lift and better ride all in one

I got the version of that kit with the blocks. Went in well enough, just make sure you have big jack stands or a few concrete blocks. And be very careful with your upper shock mounts in the rear. The down-side to spacers is you might end up throwing them away the next time you add lift

With blocks, you get nice new u-bolts... with this you get nice new centering pins. Hmmm. My thinking for myself is that I'll machine the blocks for more angle and slightly less lift when I build bastard packs to go from 2" to 3.5". You wouldn't have to worry about angles as much with the AAL, since it doesn't rotate your axles, but those leafs look tiny, and might sag back down sooner than you'd like.

Mixing leaf springs from different kind of vehicles to make a lift spring. Example: Take apart XJ leaf pack and add in s-10 main leaves, put XJ pack back together. More or less it is like adding an "add-a-leaf" but by using a leaf (or two) from another type of vehicle.
