washed engine-wont start ??????
I washed my 2000 engine down with cleaner and a garden hose- yep washed it good, scrubbed it, got it clean.. I started it right after cleaneing, started right up, ran it for about 2 min and shut it down. One day later, went out and cranked great-wont even begin to fire.....Any ideas guys??
I even pulled the air intake and gave her a shot of eather, still no go.. Where should I start?

You soaked a lot of electrical things. Maybe opening the hood and putting a fan on it for a couple of days might help.
I have read in owner's manuals that the manufacturer discourages washing underhood components. I guess this is why.

And that is why we don't wash our engines. Water and electronics do not mix. I think you may have damaged the cam sensor, no distributor cap on a 2000 XJ.

I wash my 89 with power 2x year, no issues (yet??), but have done same for 40 years on all makes, do have trouble with a nissan, distributor wet is my 1st concern, also have recently heard TPS are sensitive to moisture intrusion. WD40 spray is my 1st fix for nullifying moisture.

Thats why ur supposed to bag all electronic before doing this. I would recommend checking all spark plug cables, distributor, and maybe spark plugs. I would just open the hood witha hot light or fan and let it dry on its own

Use compressed air to carefully blow out your TPS and coil packs, leave the hood open with a fan blowing on it to help things dry out. While you're waiting, check all your fuses to make sure you haven't popped any. I'm guessing that you'll be fine in a few hours. You can also use a leaf blower to speed up the process. If you wash your engine in the future, be very careful around the throttle body (TPS) and other electronics, it may not have been a big deal ten years ago but things get worn, insulation cracks, plastic seals weather and water gets in there and acts as a pretty good conductor.
