Washer pump electrical issues
Lets just say wiring and electrical work is not my cup of tea and I am just flat out confused. 2001 cherokee sport, windshield washer pumps went out, no big deal swing down to the parts store and grab them switch them out and nothing... hmmmm
Wipers work so its not the fuse, checked the fuses anyway and they are ok.
Rubber band my switch to the steering wheel to keep the switch activated.
No reading with the multi meter if both connections are unplugged from the pumps. from either the duel ground connection or the single ground connection.
If I plug the duel ground connection into one of the pumps then test the single ground connection unplugged from the pump it has power. But when i plug it into the washer pump #2 it has no power.
If I plug the single ground connection into one of the pumps then test the duel ground connection.... no power.
Both connections plugged into both pumps no power.
The connection with two ground will not read power at all. I'm assuming its one of the ground wires from the duel ground connection. I also assume its the ground just behind the air filter box that is attached to the top of the wheel well.
Cleaned the ground and you guessed it.... nothing.
Broken wire?
If i just run two new ground wires from the same ground location back down to the duel ground connection should that work?
Its getting dark and my wife is pissed I'm still trying to fix two stupid washer pumps so I'm throwing in the towel for today.
If anyone has any advice that would be great.

If you believe it's a grounding problem just string two wires from the ground post on the left fender well, to the washer pumps, just to see if they will run that way.
If they work that way, you found the open ground(s), and can run a couple new wires...
