Forgot to say mine was getting water on the floor also, ended up being it was coming in at the top of the window........Go through a "Drive Through" car wash and watch where its coming in at is how I found out.

Default Water on floor boards after driving on snow.

Hey guys, just joined so I hope I'm in the right spot. I just bought a 92 sport. It snowed a little. Really wet squishy crap. I took the xj out to register it and when I got home noticed the pass floor board was soaked. Now nothing was falling while I was out. I pulled the trim and kick panel, peeled the carpet back some. The upper parts all around were dry. Couldn't see any holes in the floor. Any ideas?

Mine was leaking from the blower gasket.. its this foam stuff that disintegrates over time. with carpet pulled back, spray a little water between the firewall and the blower, then look inside. Is water running down the floor pan? If so, there yer problem.

Default Thanks.

I actually opened the hood an sprayed the firewall with a hose. Nothing. I am now thinking the water has to be running down the inside of the door and over the plastic sill. Going to order new seals all around. Now that the carpet is pulled out I going to clean up any rust and coat the whole floor pan. Can't hurt. Might try to find new carpet. Thanks for the help. I'm also thinking some sealant over that foam crap might be smart.

I find the best way with leaks (all cars) is to get inside and have an assistant hose the car..I can usually find out where the leak STARTS...windscreen surround is a common

I used just blue RTV around the blower seal and haven't had the problem in last 7 years. But I was able to duplicate the leak... really concentrate the water in areas like 'awg' said. have someone hold it in spots until you find the source. crawl in that thing, close the doors, have someone hold a hose and make their way slowly around the doors, slowly around firewall.. methodically, etc. you'll find it.
