Default Water pump thread removal

Hey I知 in the middle of changing out the water pump, radiator, thermostat housing, thermostat, fan clutch hoses etc and I知 a bit confused by the fact these bolts were attached to the water pump.

In most install videos they are not. Could anyone fill me in on how to remove them and attach to my new water pump.

much appreciated.

You need bolts to go in those holes on the new pump rather than nuts to go on the studs on the old pump.

Yes exactly. I was just asking if there was an easy way to remove the threaded rod from the old water pump. But I知 guessing I値l just buy some and cut it to length.

You can use bolts, or jam 2 nuts on the stud and take the studs out.

No threaded rod is not strong enough and will work itself loose. Put a long screwdriver across any two studs...then run 2 plain nuts down onto a third stud...attempt to loosen the lower nut, it will back the stud out. Repeat the process for 2 more. For the last stud just jam a screwdriver through one of the other holes untill it binds up

You want to make a spanner to hold the pulley from turning whilest tightening the pulley bolts to the correct torque. Otherwise it you wont get them tight enough.
See link below for the spanner made to hold the pulley...
