Weighted shift **** for AX-15?
I have a weighted shift **** that I had on a car, that I would like to put on my Jeep Cherokee w/ AX-15.
Would a weighted shift **** damage the transmission in any way?
The **** weighs 460 grams, or about 1 pound. I wouldn't ever consider the weighted **** unless I already had it.
Also, anyone know the thread size?
Thanks!

i can't see it being a problem man....and as for thread diameter, i have a b&m shifter that i got for free that doesn't thread on there right, its to big, so i used a whole thing of "jb weld two part" and its been in there tight for over a year now.

The threads on mine are actually too small. Plus, this is a $90 shift ****.
I know, I know I'm crazy, but, it's what I wanted for my car @ the time.

well if they are too small maybe you could find out what the thread size is on the shift stick and buy yourself a tap to make a new bigger threads in the shifter?, sounds like kind of a pain but it'd be a better way to do it than they way i would which is this, drill out the shifter until it just barely fits on there, and then epoxy glue the sucker on there.

Yeah, I'm considering doing that. I'm going to eventually sel my Nissan, so it won't really matter. it threaded on about 1/4" so it was close. This company also sells other inserts too.

I actually just installed a nice weighted billet shift **** in mine that I had in a 98 VW Gti. I saved the **** from the GTi when I sold it figuring I'd use it elsewhere. Well, to my surprise, the **** is dual threaded and it screwed right on. I believe the diameter for the Jeep is smaller than the VW.
