Default Weird intermittent rear wiper

I own a 2001 XJ Jeep Cherokee Sport, and the rear wiper is behaving strangely. When I turn it on, the intermittent doesn't do a full wipe, more like a 1/3 or 1/4, then stops, and then does a bit more then stops, and so on. But when I use the window cleaning spray it wipes completely normal. My wiper button is a switch, when switched on has a single intermittent wiper setting, and when held down does the cleaning process. Any idea or suggestions as to what may be causing this would greatly be appreciated.

Thanx, Jason

I recently solve my issue that started as yours is doing now. It will get worse and quit altogether. I pulled the motor out of the hatch an disassembled the gearbox on the motor. All the factory grease has solidified and the output shaft was very stiff. After removing, cleaning, greasing and reassembling mine works as it should.

Hope this helps!

This normally happens... I've also encountered this on my rear wiper before...
Just a few cleaning and greasing will get the job done...
