Default Welding around the gas tank

Well, it's out. After 5 hours of fighting rusty bolts and other hardware and having to cut the exhaust out of the way, it's out. For all those posts online on Youtube and other forum sites who say it's a 20 min job, (lots of bad words). There wasn't one part that came out easy. But I won.

Then I looked at the shocks (or what was left of them), and when the brand name was Tyranasaurus-ride, I thought I might as well change them while everything was out (how stupid of me). The top bolts snapped even though I used PB Blaster, heat, freeze-free, a hammer, more PB Blaster, more heat, more freeze free, and lots of delicate elbow grease. Well, just to let you know, those commercial easy outs (they suck!). So the answer ........... cut the floor above and grind old nuts off and weld in new washers and nuts (NUTS!!!!!!!) So, I won (but it sucked)

And while I am doing all this, I might as well change the gas filter since I have great access (and the fact that it's the original filter since filters have been invented). Well other then the fact that the clamps on it were also from when clamps were invented, this went pretty smooth.

Now tomorrow's chore is to redo the gasket on the hub since it's leaking like a sieve. I have easy access, it just makes sense.......... (I know I'm going to regret this)

All the while, I am supposed to be welding in new floors. I guess not today...........

Next time I have an idea to do something like this, please someone on this board smack me in the head with my key board and wrap the cord around my neck so I die of hypoxia. If that doesn't work, slit either my wrists or my neck so I die of shock!!!!!!

Default welding on or near gast tanks

Hello byekryam your welcome and I would sleep much better by saying to you to go the extra mile and drop the fuel tank, vapor trails from highly explosive gases can and have traveled several thousand feet and ignited fuel tanks. seems impossible but is true, anyways I have the same vehicle you have and its so easy (too easy) to pull out compared to the potential outcome of an explosion! P.s there is no such thing as a stupid question those who say are ignorant, and illiterate dangerous people who need to uninstall this forum for saying so, there are some people who just don't realy know!! but are smart and intelligent enough to ask and find out before proceeding with a potential life changing, project or task. you are very welcome, and keep us posted on your project and or anything. jrwhite3230

Some day someone should release the 'rust belt' version of those videos where every fastener snaps. 20 minutes? Yeah, to bandage your knuckles.

I believe this would be related to the 10 hours of..." series. EG "10 hours of changing your valve cover gasket"

Using an apostrophe for a plural (tank's). Also not smart.
