Yup finally went new it was gonna happen. Had to go with a rebuilt one as even though they are 4 parts stores within 18 miles from me none has a good brand new one!

That's a pretty good run for a starter.

Thinking about taking it apart and look and see if maybe I want to rebuild it and keep as a spare.

Your Napa did not have a new one?
Where I bought mine but it was about 6 years ago.
One thing I can't get new through Napa is a new alternator.
Just remanned ones.

Per online not in stock but can order but I needed it asap. Our Napa has weird hours on weekends (7am -1PM Sat and 12-4pm Sundays) and no way could make it before they close anyway. Our Napa kind of well isn't all that good. While back I had purchased their motor oil with a coupon to pick up in store but they could not figure out how to get the code to work would not honor the price even though they acknowledge the code should of worked. So I don't go there very often anymore.

I bet you could disassemble that oily starter, clean it out with brake kleen and it would work again. Done it numerous times.

Oil leaks kill the starters.

Just replaced mine for the first time on a '97.. Brushes were at full extent and barely (if any contact), the armature where the brushes meet were worn way down, and it was full of oil (from before I fixed the oil filler neck gasket).. RIP
