If it's an intermittent problem and it's not even trying to crank, the problem could be as simple as a bad connection somewhere. How are your battery cables? Terminals? Connections on the starter? You could have a simple problem!

try taking him for beer instead...
seriously tho, look into the nss.
if it turns over but doesn't start, then you would look into the crank sensor.
try shorting out the starter terminals with the key in the on position with the jeep in park. if it cranks or starts, then i would say for sure it's the nss.

Here are my test results:
I let it sit for 2 hours after I got it home (after it sat at the gas station all night) and tried to start it and it did start. I shut it off and it would not start.
I then let it sit for 30 min and tried to start it, no go. (I tried wiggling the shifter with the key on too)
Next I let it sit for 1 hour and tried to start it, no go. (I tried wiggling the shifter with the key on too)
2 hours later I tried again and it started. This time I drove it around for about 30 minutes and it ran fine, brought it home and shut it off. I was able to restart it again 3 times in a row without issue. I have not gone out and tested it again today, but I guess it should start.
I think I am just going to order a new NSS and replace it, if the consensus is that it is still the most likely issue. Are the eBay NSS's any good? Or should I order somewhere else?

I would try cleaning your current NSS first, it's very easy to do and cost maybe $3 for some contact cleaner and a little di-electric grease

Agreed ^, if it's the NSS, (meaning it's not grounding start relay socket 85) > http://bc4x4.com/tech/2010/jeep-neut...ty-switch-nss/
(juicing 87 should make it go) 30 souuld be hot, 86 should get power from the key starting. That's if if I have that right.

Whatever you do dont try this. It may save time and money but spending money on uneeded parts and your time the way to fix things around here . Seeing you confirmed theres no power going to the starter when keys turned to start with a meter/test light . And theres no reverse lights.

Welp, the issue hasn't happened for about 10 days (driven a little here and there). The Jeep sat for two days and I drove it to grab some lunch today, ran in and grabbed some food and come out and no crank. I'm starting to think it doesn't like to be driven for less than 5 minutes (the only common denominator I can figure).
I have tried turning the key to on and moving the shifter through all of the positions (automatic) and still nothing. I don't think it is the NSS.
It seemed to work if I let it sit for 2 hours last time. So I guess I get to hang out a another hour or so.
Any idea WTF is going on?

Go back a ways in this thread and read the post that shows you how to bypass your NSS in order to determine if that's what is causing your problem. If you don't start trying these suggestions there is no where to take you in the flow of troubleshooting.
