You should put this quote in your sig. Then when you come back asking why something "randomly" stopped working, we don't waste our time offering suggestions. If you cannot identify a part or operate a feature on your own, why are you confident enough to remove it on your own...

The OP didn't ask for an opinion about removing the cruise, he just asked what it was and could it be removed.
Why threaten him with not responding if he has a problem down the line?
Guys (and I assume gals) are constantly removing otherwise useful items from their trail rigs. Perhaps some of you intrepid off-roaders could explain how you engage and use your cruise control out on the trails.
Anyway, I guess everyone has shown him a thing or two about asking for help on this forum.

There is no gain that I can think of by removing it, yet I can think of a few potential problems if it is removed. If someone lacks the knowledge of how to even use their cruise control or where its components are located, there is a chance they will do harm while removing it. The vacuum lines will probably be brittle, cracking one will create a whole new set of problems. I think everyone assumed he would know to cap the vacuum line so no one mentioned it, but there is another potential problem.

He got his answer and continued to argue against the opinion of the other members. If we have to explain to you how to use cruise control on the trail, can you explain to me the benefit received on the trail by removing it?

Alot of us would like cruise control why not try to carefully take it off as well as all the other goodies to it and sell them. Make a buck for your unwanted parts. Someone will but it.

Take out the Airbags, they only work if you wreck your Heep anyway.
Take out all the AC components. They just add weight to your Heep.
Take off the rear view mirrors. Who needs them when wheeling.
Take out the windshield washer components. The pump motors just rust out anyway.
Seat belts are a PITA, get rid of them.
What good is the back seat. **** can it.
Headliner. Who needs it. It just gets dirty and sags down.

i took the ac out when i did the open cooling system conversion and I'm looking into turning the ac compressor into a air compressor. also i don't have a head liner and i don't have carpet floors i painted them with truck bed liner. i took the washer fluid system out completely cuz i don't need it. I'm just trying to take stuff out that i don't need under the hood cuz there is vacuums lines all over this renix engine. i don't go on long trips with the jeep I'm turning it into a trail rig.
