Hello, i am new to cherokees and just bought my first one. do any of you know what this thing is in the picture and what it does? its right below the steering wheel. the guy i bought it from had no idea, i also have no idea if it is stock or aftermarket....

 

Trailer brake controller is what it looks like .. Deffinately aftermarket

 

oh it is set up to tow... i woulda never thought of that. thanks a lot. we have those on our work trucks, but they are definitely different then that

so far so good. it was stock and we already have a 4 and a half inch lift and 33s. loving it so far

Yea it does. Thanks for the link I googled that after the last guy mentioned trailer brakes. I guess that's what it is. I couldn't see towing anything big enough with a Cherokee that you would need trailer brakes but ohh well, I guess if the situation arises I have it
