Ok so as the thread title asks...
What do you feel has been the best, investment, upgrade or just modification in general you have done with your Jeep?
Lots of people are on tight budgets now days with the economy being the way it is, and I just wanted to get a thread going for them to see what are some points of focus that give the best bang for the buck.
aside from buying a jeep of course.
this could be anything BTW. doesnt have to be cheap, simple or easy. just what you feel was the best advancements you dont to your jeep.

Lincoln locker, a very flexy pieced together 1.5-2" lift, 33's, and removable doors. Those are my favorites. Really, I love everything I've done to it so far, I've done a lot and its definitely built on a budget, got roughly $1500 in it including the cost of the Jeep itself. $1850 if you want to add in the cost of the other XJ I bought for parts.

haha made me laugh because Ive only had mine for a month or just a little over. so I know the feeling.
Ive changed all fluids, fixed common issues like the door speaker, window switch, new head unit/speakers
painted the bumper endcaps with bed liner pulled off the door trim molding...painted wheel..ect.
but nothing I would consider an "upgrade" or something major to list.
Im new the jeep world, but a lot of it is common as with any vehicle(besides the oddballs that are out there...)
I wanted to start this thread to give guys like you and I ideas on mods/upgrades that fit in a budget and are worthy of spending money on. IMHO while cool, things like inerior lighting mods are pretty much useless for function. things like that.

I love what my XJ has turned into so far, but I think the "biggest" change was the initial lift that took it from stock looking to just plain mean.

A complete fluid change differentials/transfer case/transmission/oil/brake fluid/flush radiator/new antifreeze/lube job/check brakes replace pads, shoes and turn drums, rotors.
Those are the most important "UPGRADES" to start with. If you haven't done those forget the rest they don't mean ***** if the basic's are done. I'm not trying to rain on your parade but these are very important to your build.
