You can relocate the vacuum ball back by your master cylinder or wherever you want it, and route the lines as you like. I dont have a ball and just have the line plugged, but it isnt recommended. If you have a heater control valve (96' or 97' and older i think) you can eliminate that to clean that mess of hose up. The air box can be removed and install an aftermarket round filter. The ac compressor can be removed and have a bypass pulley installed in its place, and you can remove all the lines and condenser associated with the AC.

Cruise control would be one, AC would be another. That's about all i can think of without doing some custom work...

I hate clutter? reason im doing it.

i like my non working AC but someday ill fix that evap. someday. so that stays.

i dont have cruise control. if i did it'd be gone too. lol

intake wise not worried about... ill be fabbing that all up shortly before my lift snorkel wise. completely sealed and it'll be coned.

Alright whats the point of the friggin vacuum ball? is it to store vacuum after the jeep is turned off or what?

my heater controls dont work anyway. all i get is defrost lol.

but if i get rid of vacuum ball whats it really gonna hurt?
i dont see how stupid ball makes it so my vents go here or there.

reason im doing it though, the wiring is jacked in my jeep. PO PO sucked. and my buddy the PO tried to fix some things but hes a better mechanic than a electrical tech.

So imma rewire a few main things for the engine, and hopefully in doing this, get rid of vacuum lines.
If i cant then im gonna route them in a better way to take less room up. as i am with the electrical

the vacuum ball just holds vacuum so when the engine is under extra load, all of the hvac controls still work (maybe? lol) I just have the line plugged up and everything works fine. That is out of the way and most people cant even find the damn thing, if you arent willing to take out anything besides wiring, i guess it seems like much more hassle than it is worth.

not worried about the vacuum ball anymore... got that figured out.

anywho ya if i can clean us some silly crap the XJ doesnt need in there then that'll help.

doing the wiring will work out good since i can hide it and have it route where i want it to route... gonna start on the engine since that is mainly where all the wires are trashed.

vacuum lines are crap too... reason im asking this.

and why not clean up vacuum lines that i dont need?
i pulled about 15 vacuum lines outta my Lightning that it didnt need and it still runs fine.

Funny how the OP was so concerned about a vacum ball that's hidden behind the bumper but doesn't want to remove a non-working AC.

Nearly everything that is cluttering up your engine bay is NEEDED in order for it to run properly.

If you don't have emission requirements where you live you could try converting to a carburetor and a mechanical distributor. Get rid of all your vacume lines, go to non-power assisted brakes, ditch the power steering, and move the rest of your electrical wires to the other side of the firewall. Convert your washer fluid container to an overflow tank for your radiator, and put the battery in the rear hatch area. That'd give ya lots of room under the hood...

wow nice smart *** answer buddy.
so concerned? no not that ****ing concerned. i just didnt get the reason behind having it. i got it now thats why i said not worried about it right now. ill remove that later and relocate it accordingly.

yes im sure ALOT of the stuff is needed. no doubt.
But alot of it can be taken off. one thing i've noticed is i have harnesses here and there for stuff my jeep wasnt equipped with from the factory.
so i need that? do i really need that so it can function the imaginary equipment that didnt even come on my jeep. i think not.

but thanks for the laugh. the time it took you to write that useless post you coulda clicked back and been reading another thread. instead of adding your worthless 0.02cents

Thanks agian

oh btw. yes the AC is broke. but can easily be fixed. i didnt say hey what mechanic stuff can i pull off cause its pretty much worthless.

indeed keep rolling around and posting stupid ****ing responses.

I removed my cruise control and heater control valve, and just plugged the line for the vac ball. It was cracked anyways, and all the heater controls still work just fine
