Just bought this 98 and cleaning up the engine bay and wondering what the circled connector is for. Anybody?

Thinking that is the connector for the cruise control actuator.
I can tell you don't have cruise control so....
Thing that looks weird is that I am thinking there is a "dummy plug" connected to it.
To protect it maybe?
But mine was not like that so....
I added cruise control to my '00 and if you source all the right parts is literally plug and play.
Just incase you are interested.
LOL.

Actually he does have cruise control, you can see the end of the actuator in the picture. As for that connector, I haven't a clue. Maybe the FSM could be helpful.

You are correct.
I thought the "T" was capped off.
Can a DRL connector be that far towards the front?
Cause now I am starting to think that is what that is.

Thanks for the sleuthing guys.
it is a highly optioned 1998 Sport that according to the online build sheet was originally delivered to the Philadelphia region.
As noted it looks like a connection that was capped off at the factory. My line of thinking too was it is for some easy to add but uninstalled option but I can't think of anything it doesn't already have other than the overhead console. Kind of big to be a plug for an outside temperature sensor though.
Regarding DRL, was that an option on US cars in 1998?
I am away from the car for a week but will take a look at the FSM and the parts book when I get a chance.

I am under the impression that DRL's are a Canada thing but we do have the connector in our US versions.
I think I looked once and saw up by firewall but if so it was so long ago that I can't remember for sure.
LOL.
