What could cause this?

Was checking under the hood of my 91 xj for leaks as well as to evaluate the removal of my leaking p/s pump when I saw something very wierd.
What would cause pinhole leaks in my heater hose? It seems almost like a factory error because there are multiple holes evenly spaced apart just barely burping coolant one hot drop at a time.
Edit: heater hose is literally at most a month old. It couldn't have anything to do with the grade 8 washer I put in the upper rad hose as a restricter could it? Coolant is fresh, all cooling components new or only a year or so old.

A leaking hose is a bad hose. Whatever somebody was thinking with a "restrictor" is probably a bad idea. Anyway the system pressure will be pretty much independent of any restrictions. Would mostly be a result of the temperature. Far from a positive displacement piston, or diaphragm type pump, a centrifugal, auto type water pump just "persuades" flow. I wouldn't ever expect any "notable" pressure from one. (they CAN, but these don't). I'd change a hose that leaks!

Might seem like an odd question. But is it actual heater hose for the application? Or just generic 3/4? inch hose? It might not be rated for higher temperatures.
