Okay so i have been working on this for a little while now and these are a few pics of what i would like to do to my XJ. The Black is spray on bedliner and there are a couple of other mods I added cause I wanted to see what it looked like. Your imput would be great also I know people have used the bedliner on fender flares but how about the front and rear bumper it is also plastic if anyone has and past experience with doing this please speak up

Yeah the bumpers will look good either with the caps or with the whole thing painted with bedliner. The rear bumper needs the entire bumper covered.

alright thanks for the feedback i will consider doing the entire rear bumper but i like the look of the front still having a little white to tie the whole thing together. How do you prep for it just scuff up the paint with sandpaper?

Do the whole bumper, I didnt on mine at first, went back and redid them. I use duplicolor liner. I like the looks of the rockers and quarters, maybe leave the front flares white

I used the spray, in a few spots I do have a bit of the greying. I think it is from either not getting the spray pattern overlapped enough or missing spots on the second or third coat. I did email Duplicolor and asked them if the liner was paintable. Here is there response.
"Although we do not recommend it, the
Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating may be painted after it has cured for at
least five (5) days. We suggest using a lacquer or enamel based paint.
Based on consumer's feedback, the Dupli-Color General Purpose Enamels have
been used over the Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating successfully. For
example: Dupli-Color G.P. Enamel DA1620 Royal Blue may be used over the
Truck Bed Coating. Suggest a light sanding prior to applying the G.P.
Enamel over Truck Bed Coating.
We are not able to test all blends or paint types with the Truck Bed
Coating. "Not all paints are created equal". There are, and will continue
to be, exceptions to the standard rules established thus far. You will
want to test the paint that you choose to ensure that the two products will
be compatible. Please allow your sample to cure for 3-4 days. Most
complications (peeling, fisheyes, bubbling, tackiness, etc.) will occur
within this time frame.
Keep-in-mind, you are applying an enamel over top of a specialty coating --
Most enamels, including the Dupli-Color General Purpose Enamels, do not
offer the same attributes as the Truck Bed Coating (high impact resistance,
non-skid surface, etc.)"
I may spray mine with some sort of semigloss black.
