Good to know. I've got the Hellas, but if I crack one I'll get these.

I see you guys like them, but I was curious what bulb you ordered. Says 60/55w comes with it, I am leaning towards the 100/55w with my order. Upgrade harness on its way soon.

Harness first, housings second, 100/55s third.

That's what I use with a dedicated harness and H4 bulbs. Works great.

No they're not. Obviously you've never used the Autopals.

All this talk of what housing and bulbs and what not, it's really making me rethink my Christmas list. I've already got the harness, I'm thinking autopals and the white 100/90w or those leds I've seen floating around here.

https://www.auxbeam.com/headlight-bulbs/H4/88621849
So autopals and the above LEDs or autopals and 100/90w

So the 100/55 bulbs will have a very bright high beam and a normal low beam, like what is currently in the Jeep? It is important to me to maintain a normal low beam (nothing irritatingly bright for other traffic) as I do a lot of city driving.

I'm running Hella E-code housings with a relay harness, and I have 55/100W bulbs in them. The 55W low beams are about the same brightness as everything else on the road and give good visibility. The 100W high beams light up the road and everything around it for miles. Not once have I wished I had brighter high or low beams.

I can't say I understand wanting 90W low beams. Even though the E-code housings have a decent cutoff, that's still awful bright and will be blinding to other drivers when you're on an incline or coming over a hill. I can't think of many situations where I would need 90W low beams where I wouldn't just be able to hit my high beams instead.

Truck Lites are awesome lights if you are willing to spend the money. They're in second place, with JW Speaker headlights holding the top spot. One of the great things about the Truck Lites is that they're sealed up, whereas the H4s are not.

However, while both of those LED brands are better than H4s, I didn't really feel either of those provided enough of a bump in performance to justify the extra cost. The H4 conversion with E-code housings gives much better bang for the buck for 1/3 of the cost of the Truck Lites and 1/10 of the cost of the JW Speakers.

Regarding Autopals, I've seen them, and they look fine. I went with the more expensive Hellas because I had read several posts where the reflective coatings inside the Autopals degraded, especially when they got wet. Lots of people have used them with no problem at all, though, so they seem to be a great budget option.

I have 100/90s in Autopal housings in one Jeep.

I will put 100/90s in the set I ordered before installing them.
