I was looking at a '91 a few weeks ago that had the clock, and in the large space beneath it had lights for things like Low Coolant, and a whole list of other things! I was impressed.

Nope, the whole back side is the clock electronics. all your lights are on the left.

Renix models had a "system sentry" that went there, it was pretty cool.

well see mine is a renix model and i dont have anything that pops up there. but its definitely a screen of some sort.

its a 1988 jeep cherokee loredo 4.0 automatic.

if there is interesting stuff like low coolant and other crap that pops up there then im going to fix it because thats just awesome. if its just a clock then i dont care my stereo deck has a clock lol

Sorry, I should of said "some renix models" I think it was a pretty rare option. Apparently the HOs had it too, if you look above.

Yours does not have a screen, thats just a blockoff plate, same as my girlfriends 96 and my 89. They look a little different for different years, but theyre all pretty much the same. The system sentry never was "digital" screened, afaik.

So behind it is just stuff for the clock? Could it all just be ripped out to make a hole for something new or is it hooked up to other stuff.
