It might be interesting to contact Jeep to see if they will send you the build sheet for your vehicle. This might provide a bit more insight that just decoding the VIN.

you wanna hear weird? how bout a 2 door with manual tranny, 4 banger, manual windows, locks, no console, no rear wiper, WITH cruise control?


and BTW, you can throw a full size in that jeep with ease. did it with mine need any help with that feel free to shoot me a pm

It's not that weird at all. I ordered 13 Comanches for myself at the dealership for my demos from 1986 to 1992.
You start with a package you want, and then add options you want. Some options are not available with all packages.
The packages gave you a better bang for your buck and more things to choose from, unlike ordering a base model and adding a jillion upgrades.

Here's an example. Someone wants just a Base model for all their needs but travels on the highway for hours on end, so they add cruise control.

I got a '93 base model and it has the exact same console with the basic cover thing around the parking brake handle. Its exactially the same as this one only it has the rear wiper and power windows and locks (which dont work)

there was a 99 xj 2 door i saw on auto trader few months ago no wiper/ac 4.0 4x4 5spd and it had nothing in it not even a tape player just a radio....so odd to see in a newer xj

that's true, never thought of it that way, never bought a new car either tho
