I have a 1991 XJ 4.0 HO 5 speed with air and everything is great, I love my jeep, all stock and in beautiful shape. I was looking around under the hood and found a plug that is not connected to anything. it is located on the passenger side under the charcoal canister, and has never been connected. can someone please let me know what this might be ? am I missing something I should have ? I have a couple photos that might help you identify this thing. thanks

It's likely for an option that you don't have. Jeep used 1 harness regardless of options. I have a 93 Sport that is pretty barebones and I have plugs and wires all over.

It's called a corrosion connector. LOL


Actually, it may be for an under hood light.

no, no under hood lamp. maybe that is where it should hook up ? good idea, I can check and see if there is any voltage on it....

Power should come an Ignition Off Draw fuse (battery voltage).

As was mentioned above, it's probably for an option the vehicle wasn't outfitted with from the factory. Factory fog lights perhaps? My '98 Sport has an empty plug on the harness for them.
