Default What rear axle is this (off of MJ)

Found this at a JY. It is off an 80s MJ. Is this any better than a D35 and what would it take to swap?

Thanks,
s

i was wondering the same, i never saw that before. i thought one was maybe a sway bar, and the other looked like a trac bar, don't know why they would be there like that though.

well if it was under an comanche i would pull the cover and see if any other goodies are in it (deep gears, locker) its a 1 ton axle, the aftermarket is pretty limited on them, but they can be a decent axle

What year Camanche is this rear axle in? Is it cut for a stock width? If so, it is a rare or just very fortunate find. I agree with KTM. It does look like a Sterling 10.25. If it is a 1 ton axle cut to the stock track width for a Camanche it is an awesome find and will fit an XJ as well.

My rear D44 looks just like that only without the optional rust coating....wonder if he had to pay extra for that.....
