The front right speaker in my Jeep died, and now my right one is making a weird rattling sound and is very quiet, so I suppose it's time for new speakers. My 98 has the Infinity sound system with an amp under the rear seat. I don't think the amp works, so if anyone has any recommendations on that, let me know. I don't have a ton of money to throw away, so please keep that in mind. Thanks!

If you've got a junk yard near you, take a walk and find some used speakers. I found some really nice 6.5" speakers for $4 a piece. You can fit 6.5" speakers in the door with a little trimming.

Got you covered. I did about 10 hours worth of hard research on the subject last month.

Apparently 6-1/2" aftermarket speakers will fit behind the factory grilles, but you'll need to re-drill the mounting screw holes.

These are the best bang for your buck. They come in sets of 2, so you will need 2 sets. you can save a bit more if you buy refurbished.


You can hook them up to your deck, but I would also recommend installing them with the matching amp.
Im not sure if the amp will fit under the seat. If you're going to order it you should check the measurements.


Otherwise just make sure your wiring is in order. These will provide you with some serious sound for less than $250..

6.5" Pioneer DXT2266UB is what I have in mine with a 12" sub. I am very satisfied with the sound.
