What are the symtoms of a bad brake pump?

your brakes not working. If you have to slam the brakes to the floor. I've never heard of one going out though. And I have an 89. Felt like my brakes were bad after we swapped the rear axle and had better brakes on it and bled the brakes they work like a champ now

does your peddle go to the floor? or slowly lose pressure and sink to the floor.
if its rock hard and you have to press real hard it could have a vacum leak off the servo.
go to a breakers and get another, as i cant imagine there that expensive.
