weld the spider gears would be the cheapest. I know that used to be done alot around here. Not very practicle in my opinion.

get a aussie or Lock right. It replaces the spider gears. No need to re-setup gears or anything like that

An Aussie Locker will run $239 for any of the Jeep Cherokee axles. That is the best deal I've found. Aussie doesn't make a locker for the 27 spline 8.25. If you have that rear axle, you will need to get a Lock Rite.

unless you dont drive it on the street very much or need to make tight turns this could work. I dont think that i would reccommend it though

It all depends on what your looking for. If your looking for a posi lock then power trax would be your anwser. If it's a budget trail rig and you want it fully locked then weld up the spiders for a spool. If you want a locked DD then go with ausi or lock right for a decent price.

Just a note a posi lock is good for street maners and won't be locked as much as a full locker which will put it at a disadvantage off road. However, it will have better on road maners.

Doesn't the ausi lock do the same thing as the power trax? Whats the difference besides the major price difference?

If you know of a supplier that sells the Aussie for the 8.25 29 spline for $239, please post a link. The cheapest I can find online is from Jeeperz Creeperz at $320. Which still is'nt that bad, but hey, I'z is po.

Wow, as hot a molten as you had to get that diff. to get that big gob of weld in there, I bet none of that metal has any hardness left to it.
