really? u know i was thinking bout that but since the PO never changed the diff fluid, or the u joints i figured he didnt replace the gasket. Plus i noticed the gasket feel like silicone and coming apart so i knew i had to. only 2 bucks and change.
Oh thats a cool trick gotta add that to my trick bag, lol Still owe you that beer.

Sure it matters when you go to a parts house and ask for a non-existant part for your jeep or when you try to explain the fuel system to someone that doesn't know the heck your talking about because your made up names don't match what everyone else is saying.

"My ggogling snarb is blexbabbling when turn on my defrost energy switch."

Meh, gimme the good 'ol days when we called an IAC an Idle Air Control Stepper Motor.

wait... iat... initial air temperature... thats a part on the jets i used to work on... danged if i aint all screwed up... sounded the same to me i guess... lol... my oops... if the TB has a silicone seal then scape all that crap up and use the felt or rubber or whatever... i wouldnt use that stuff for anything where when you go to take something off it can peel off and get in the motor... or something like a TB where it may can get into little ports that you may need...

Seriously?
Silly me. I have my throttle body and intake off at the moment for cleaning and just put them together in my mind.
However, after having a look at the runners of the intake manifold I would say if the TB needs cleaning then the intake needs it more.
The previous owners service bills say that the intake and TB were
"professionally cleaned" twice while he owned it at the dealership,
the last time was about 14 months ago. I had to use an old hunting knife to scrape the black gooey crud off of the walls of the intake runners and head ports. Whatever spray they used at the dealership to clean it didn't accomplish much. That was 15 years of crud I was scraping off.

I understand your point, but the OP was asking about cleaning a TB and not the entire intake system.

If it needs it that bad...go for it.
