Im replacing my front wheel bearings but im stuck, their rusted in pretty good and im wondering, whats the best way to remove them? I have the axle nut off and the three 12star bolts out, is there something i missing or is there a good way to get this rusted bearing out?

 

There's a youtube video that goes through the whole procedure, Maybe that'll help out a little.

 

you can try heating them with a torch, and penetrating oil (NOT AT THE SAME TIME haha)

If you tap the 3 bolts with a hammer while they are in the hub it will pop out.I just did one ..it's a *****

 

Yeah, tap them out. See if you can spin them.... Just make sure the axle nut is off!

Get a 3 pound hammer and beat the F out of the hub. You are replacing it anyway. Get mad at it!

Did you destroy the dust shields getting it apart or were you able to save them?

 

I've done it by wedging a 3/8" extension between the end of the axle and the back of the hub and using the power steering to push the hub off. Works like a charm.

 

The dust shield held up really good actually. I tried to do the extension thing but where the hell do you prop it up against the hub???

 

I used one of the 12 point hub bolts to push against. Back it out about 1/4 of the way so it still has plenty of thread engagement and push against the head. Once the tapered side of the hub pops loose, it should be easy to remove.
When you put the new hub on, paint the tapered part with anti-sieze. It will make things easier if you have to go back in there later.
