Yep, great suggestion! I think you and everyone who suggested two sets are absolutely right, it really is the way to go! No different than having a set of studded snow tires stacked in the garage for winter.

And it will also give you plenty of spares to take along if you are going way out in the sticks. I pack two when we are heading way out and have needed them both a couple times.

If the cost of tires is a concern, buy a set for what you'll use most...brand new. For the other, CL it. Put the new ones on the streeters, and buy some CL tires for the offroad/winter setup...tread isn't as important for offroad, meaning you can get a decent set of used tires with say, 75% life left in them for cheap, but they'll last a while if only used offroad or inclement weather.

This is the goal but my wallet is arguing with me. Remember, I need five of each. It's all about that stupid spare matching thing...

The steelies were going to have studs on them. Sometimes the wet cement we call snow here gets pretty nasty and studs are the only way to fight it.

Look on CL for matching spares, people put up stock rims all the time...or just grab a spare that fits, it's only to get you to the house or shop anyways, LOL

There's options, you might need to get creative, or just be patient. Start combing the JY's and CL...you'll find something eventually haha

OK, this post is going to pretty much kill my own poll.
The steelies are going on CL.
The five hole alloys... I don't know yet.
I started looking fairly hard for a fifth matching wheel but couldn't justify the price for ONE wheel.
So look what followed me home today.
Five matching rims. Four with 235/75/15 Wranglers. Two aren't too bad and the other two are downright good! (my current tires are almost as bald as I am)

Nice ZJ Canyons! Those will look great on your '99. The Gamblers (5-hole) would look better on the earlier bodies, IMO.

Got the canyons on my jeep. Lol i like alloy because you break them you can scrap them down and get a decent chunk of change. A friend made a good profit working at an offroad tire specialist and people broke those alot and left them there lol. But heres mine.


Edit: Also i now own 10 canyon rims now.... Long story.

Lol. I have 8 canyons and 8 Goodyear wranglers. Need to get 2 more so I will have 2 full sets and 2 spares. When my ZJ was totaled they were the only things I kept. Stupid me. Then more recently I picked up an XJ that already had the set on.

I definitely vote B.... although many people on here will tell you I have a thing for the Gamblers. I would continue to search for a 5th wheel if it was me...

The Gamblers are a 15x8" wheel, while the steelies you posted and the ZJ Canyons are a 15x7. They both have a 5.5" backspace though, so either one may allow tire rub depending on your tire size. The TJ version of the Canyons are also 15x8.

So physical "benefit" is that the Gamblers are 1" wider.... cosmetic benefit well, as I said I'm very partial to Gamblers. If my Jeep was still 30" tires or less with 2" or less of lift, I would have a set of Gamblers on it.

You just gave me an idea.
I'll offer to trade all four of my steelies for one Gambler.
(remember I got the steelies for free )

Tire rub... no. I'm sticking with 235's and the Upcounty setup.
