this would be a great time to repaint them.
check around here for very detailed instructions.
its a 2 to 3 hour project and its pretty easy.

you will be fine a little rust is ok on rims! hell it adds character! Mine are scratched banged slightly bent and they are still going strong. i see no need in repainting something over and over and over again when your always wheeling or going through mud or snow or what ever. know what i mean. or just do what the guy said above me. Get Alloys.

are they chrome? polished aluminum? alloy? steel?

steel wool would probably work
