Factory cat are more expensive because they use platinum instead if ceramic like after market cats. there was a clip of a Cherokee with a flowmaster 50 series that sounded great. VERY little change in exhaust note.. but thats what I like

I think the magnaflow mufflers sound like crap. (judging from other youtube vids)

So if I get an aftermarket, high-flow cat, where does the O2 sensor go?

Another place to get a good deal for a cat-back is Amazon. Runs about $132 plus shipping, and also have Flowmaster cats for just over $60. Here's a link:

I just got this installed to my Cherokee. The same high-flow cat and the raptor. Total cost: $160 (including a very nice stainless tip that the shop guys just put on). It sound like a v8 on idle, but when you go over 3000rpm, it gives it away and you can tell it's a straight six. Still, so much better sounding than the stock, not to mention the high flow that is likely to get good mileage.
Thanks for all the tips and links.

If you are interested in SS, you can get a ss cat and ss mufler for around $221.00 shipped to your door. If you have a local recycling center or scrap yard, pick up some 2" ss tubing. go to your local muffler shop and cut the old sytem off just below the engine and fab the new stuff in. I got my cat and muffler from JEG"S.
