Lots of ideas, but a "whine" is very vague. If its whining when in park, its more than likely your belt or air intake. Is it an "air whine" or a "belt squeal whine"? If it goes away after "warming up", then its probably your belt or something to do with it, i.e., a pulley.

Anyways...thought I'd bump this, after this weekends wheelin trip Im getting a whine as well upon acceleration. Im thinking its tranny related as my tranny just started to drip out of the bell housing. I wheeled it pretty hard this past trip through water etc...
Any ideas??

Yea I checked it and it looked fine, still red and not milky or anything. I drained it anyways as it doesnt hurt to change it. Drained it 2 days ago and its still slowly dripping out of the bellhousing...
