Changing the oil in my Wife’s XJ and I noticed a white buildup around the gaskets for the water pump and T-stat housing. I replaced both about 5 years ago but don’t recall having a buildup like this on the last pump or the pump on our previous XJ. Assume it’s calcium?

looking to see if anyone else has had this happen to them, and if they ended up having to replace the gaskets or just let it be?

Looks like a small leak with the resulting scale build up... Keep an eye on it.. Watch for it to leak as it's warming up as well as during operation and see what you've got....I've had leaks where it only leaked during the transition between cold and hot while warming up.. With any luck it might have resulted from not getting the old debris cleaned off well and it corroded.. Or it's such a small leak you haven't noticed it..

I see that a lot from using the crappy pressed paper gaskets. They tend to weep coolant.
