Default White smoke at idle

Lately I've been getting some white smoke out the tail pipe after the jeep reaches temp and I shut it off for a couple minutes and restart it. It will then puff until i began to drive the jeep then it'll go away and be fine. It's weird. Also my temp gauge likes to read at 240 now... even though I replaced the sender today and verified with an ir gun pointed towards the thermostat housing that it's running at a good 185-200.. heres some pics..

White Smoke (coolant/water)
----------------
1) Clogged CCV /oil seperator
2) Blown head gasket

Well.. Lets hope it's number one. Whats the oil separator though? Can you post a pick or tell me the location. Thanks

Agreed white is coolant issue, its getting into the cyl. some how. Head gasket is a issue I've heard with high miles. If you over heated it could be a warped head at worst.

This is a long shot, but on my semi when it would puff white smoke after a shut down and restart, it was because of an injector that was dribbling fuel and cooling/overcharging the cylinder. Once I drove a bit, and things got up to temp it would clear up too. The semi was an inline 6 also. Just a thought.

I believe it's a baffle installed in the valve cover up top. Have to remove the cover and flip it upside down...you'll see it.

What's the smoke smell like? Antifreeze or hydrocarbons- too rich?

I'm gunna try to pick up a compression tester this week and see what the numbers are.
I don't think it'd be a leaky fuel injector unless some how since it's been colder it decided to break.
Yeahhh that's the thing. It smells different not like normal exhaust smell but it's not necessarily sweet smelling. My dad says it's water vapor since it is dissipating quickly.
And it happens on and off. Usually i notice after I've driven for awhile and then I shut it off to restart it a couple minutes later, it doesn't happen all the time but thats when I notice it. Ones I begin driving again it stops smoking and goes back to normal.
So if it does turn out to be a head gasket we're just going to to pull the whole motor and rebuild since we'd be in there. I need to get myself a job....

Yeah I've been keeping tabs on my coolant levels and it appears they have been dropping. I still haven't gotten a gauge to pressure test it, but I'm sure it's a head gasket. I may pick up another motor to rebuild, something between 91-94 and do a ho swap and just convert the renix sensors over. I've read that all you need to convert is the tps to the ho throttle body.
Anyways, I know it's not ideal but I don't have the time to replace the head gasket so I'm going to drive it and justt keep filling up my coolant each week. I only drive about 6 miles a day, just to school. And on the weekends I don't drive that much. Then over spring break I'll pull the engine and get it all torn down and rebuilt. Good plan?

Keep adding coolant when it is low.

Drive it until the oil pressure is near zero at hot idle.

Pull engine and rebuild/replace.

Make sure the coolant isn't getting into your oil, that will trash the bearings. Might step up the oil change intervals even if you don't see coolant in there- just in case.

He's going to have to pull it anyway. It's already damaged.
