ok there is a thermostat on my ac system what was going on with it was ,the evaporator was almost covered in dust dirt ect causing it to get ice cold from poor air circulation going thru it from the blower motor. Pulled the blower motor resistor and blower motor got out the old trust garden hose set the adjustable knozzle to a fine hard mist, had my friend hold a large square tupperware under the blower motor resistor hole and cleaned it . The stuff that washed out was a 1/8 sheet of 22 yaresof crud. this solved another issue that was going on at the same time low blower motor cfm air gets to 46 degrees and daugher can fell the air in the back seat again hitting her face . thanks for the help and suggestions guy

It's your compressor clutch coil - the coil resistance goes up over time as the thing heats and cools repeatedly, to the point where it only has enough magnetism to pull in the clutch plate when the engine is cold -as soon as everything heats up it is too weak due to the higher resistance to operate the clutch correctly. Common issue on 2000 XJ - I had exact same sypmtons - I just replaced my coil with a $27 replacement, took an hour on the driveway and it's cool all the time now.
