wierd crunching/grinding sound
when I first start to drive my jeep after it has sat for a while it makes this wierd grinding/rattle sound. It doesn't sound good at all. I heard of flexplate bolts coming loose but i checked mine and they are tight, I also dont see any cracks at all on the flexplate. It also makes the sound when I go to turn it off, or if its under load (llike slowly going up a steep incline) it does it in all gears. I'm thinking its either something to do with the tranny or maybe an exhaust rattle but I just cant pinpoint it, mainly because to hear it I got to be driving.....
The jeep has a 4.5 inch rubicon lift and the 4.0 l engine
Any ideas???
Thanks

well I got it figured out, was my exauhst system, it is only connected at two points the very front by the cat, and at the very back by the tail pipe, I threw in another bracket just after the cat and now it sounds fine, no more grinding or rattles
